INDEPENDENT STUDY I

Individualized study programs are available for elementary students either in need of remedial work or summer enrichment.

Hourly rate of $40.00 is applied for independent study.  Times set up on an individual basis and run throughout the entire summer.

PRIVATE MUSIC LESSONS

Private lessons in your choice of piano, guitar and voice.  Lessons may be ½ hour to one hour in length.

JUMPSTART KINDERGARTEN

This course is designed for students who are entering Kindergarten in the fall, or for those students who have late birthdays.  This course will focus on Reading, Carden phonics, Mathematics, and Printing.  Kindergarten Readiness Testing is a prerequisite for enrollment.

KINDERGARTEN – 1st GRADE REVIEW

Help your children retain the reading and math skills that they have developed over the school year.  Students will review vowel charts, Carden phonics, read simple stories, answer comprehension questions, and analyze sentences.  We will focus on understanding main ideas and recalling data from reading.  Math will review addition, subtraction, greater than, less than, patterns, and much more!

2nd4th GRADE REVIEW

Help your child retain the knowledge that they have gained over the school year.  Students will review the vowel chart, Carden phonics, read stories, answer comprehension questions, and analyze sentences.  We will focus on recalling data, sequencing, and understanding cause and effect in reading.  Math will review

addition, subtraction, patterns, graphing, multiplication and division.

ARTS & CRAFTS (all grades)

Designed for the creative side of a child. The arts and crafts projects made in this class are delightfully easy and delightful to look at!  Make great gifts or room accents!  Sun catchers, picture frames, flower pots & more!

BEGINNING COOKING (all grades)

Students will learn to prepare a variety of dishes from appetizers to desserts with basic ingredients and simple steps.  This hands-on class will also explore proper etiquette when setting a table and, of course table manners.

CHEER/DANCE

Your future dancer will be introduced to a variety of dance styles, cheer and chants.  They will have fun exploring their creativity, while developing coordination and promoting self esteem combined with learning basic dance steps.

SPANISH LANGUAGE & LITERATURE

This course is designed to review and reinforce the student’s knowledge of the Spanish language in an engaging and fun environment!  Students entering 3rd -8th grade will greatly benefit from this course.

SUMMER ENGINEERS (all grades)

Students will learn about a different type of engineering each week of the course. A fun hands-on activity or building project will be completed at the end of each week!

HANDS ON MATH (all grades)

In this course students will be participating in different hands-on experiences related to different math concepts.  This class will be

engaging, exciting, and educational!  When kids work hands-on with math concepts, they engage with the material and construct their own knowledge. Rather than being told what to learn by their teachers, they use the activity to create their own understanding of the concept.  It has been proven through educational research that students will have a vivid and lasting understanding of what they DO much more than what they only hear or see.

FUN WITH SCIENCE (all grades)

Students will be participating in a variety of fun labs and experiments, getting hands-on experiences in all aspects of science.  This class will be engaging, exciting, and educational!

ALGEBRA I

This course is designed to introduce students to Algebra.  Students will learn the basic properties of solving linear equations, graphing, factoring, and applications.  7th – 9th grade students.

Mandatory for students enrolling in the 8th grade this fall.
